Making Norh Wood Drums

We have taken some pictures of our factories making wood-drums, so that you can understand the process that goes into making this work of art.


Our wood loudspeakers (3.0, 4.0 and 5.1) start out as logs. Here is a photo showing these logs getting ready to be routed.


Here you see the craftsman using hand tools to route the outside of the drum. This is the same method and equipment that Thais use to make the Thai long drum (the inspiration for the inverted horn loudspeaker).



The cabinets prior to being routed out on the inside.



The logs are then routed from the inside.

The cabinets are then put into a large outside oven where they are baked at 300 degrees Celsius for two weeks
